What is the difference between cloud and local cBots?

A cloud cBot instance runs independently of your device after it starts. A local instance uses the Windows or Mac computer and requires the cTrader desktop app and device to remain available while the cBot is running.

Do I need a broker account before downloading cTrader?

You can download or open cTrader without first funding a live account. Trading access depends on a live or demo account supplied by a cTrader broker.
